Is 2003 Vermeer 1230a with 240 hours-$14k good deal???????????????

Not sure if this is the right forum! This looks new and has 240 hours and has non turbo Perkins diesel. Is this a good deal? I need a chipper and this is all I can find that isn't junk!

I don't know what that model goes for new, but I think I'd look around more. Last week I saw a bandit 250 w/ JD diesel ready to go to work sell for $3700 at a tree service bank auction.

I was sick that I had no money to spend.

You should be able to pick up a good used machine with about those hours for less, or a better machine with more hours for about the same amount.

I think that is a fair price for that machine. We bought an older 1250 last year with the Perkins engine for about $11k. It was in very good condition and had been a good chipper for the most part. I would be happy to buy the chipper you describe, as long as it is really in that good of shape and those are the real hours.

I think it is a bit high in this market, but it depends on condition. I'm sure you could deal on it.
