Get G. Beranek's Fundamentals of Genral Tree Work, that and Jepson's book are what I give to new climbers when teaching them.

I am going to order it from the link you provided. I've been looking at other items on that site.

COOL! Send SeanLarkin a PM He will send you a very informative Catalog as well!

If you have a Vermeer dealer near you, they have open houses with a
Sherrill rep. They put out alot of great info. I go to them every year.

I hope you guys aren't reccomending or commenting on anybooks that you yourself have not personally read. That is violation of the posting guidelines (see #20).

There are some good tips in every Sherrill catalog and they sell the books mentioned here. Go to the sponsored fourms and ask them to send you a catalog. A lot of great tools in the catalogs.I try to get extra catalogs when I shop at the Vemer dealer's so I can pass the catalogs out to the treeguys I stop and talk to. You'd be surprised how many ground crews have never seen a Baliey's, Sherrill's, Karl Kuermmerling, Klien,CMI, or Petzel catalog. They are about clueless when it comes to what's out there in the way of good equipment made to do treework. Their bosses must hoard the catalogs. I give them away.

I just received the Tree Climber's Companion by Jeff Jepson and Sherrills Fall/Wnter and the Master catalog last Thursday. They sit by my favorite reading seat. :)
