I'm sure there must be some way to find out the date of manufacture of a Stihl saw, it there a site that one can check to find the year from Mod# & Ser#'s?

Just curious as to how old my saw is!

Thanks, Shawn

Thanks Chuck!

All I could find was "YEAR INTRODUCED: 1993"

So I know it is not older than 14 years old!

email Stihl and they can tell you. I estimated my 066 on info from an earlier post on the same subject, so I never have done it officially.

BTW, what model is it?

It's a little 021, runs great, not too heavy like my old 056, I know they make bigger & heavier saws, but I can't see the need for me to haul one around, when I was looking for a used saw it was from a 021 - 028 range.

This is what I have for info on it, I had Stihl send me a owners manual for it.

Email Stihl USA and they will tell you in about two or three days; I've done it several times. Be patient, they are busy. They need the model and serial number both.
