Hi All

Thank you for having me on the forum. I have three rather large oak trees in my garden, one of which has a patch which the bark seems to have rolled back from near its base. Please see the attached photos. On closer inspection it does not look all that great. If the tree was to be weakened and come down it would cause a LOT of damage as it is in a residential area next to a road that is a major route for schoolchildren. I only became aware that there might be an issue with the tree yesterday when my brother pointed it out to me.

Many thanks in advance for any opinions!

Berni

Hi

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I shall henceforth cease to worry about it.

By the way, so this damaged area would have been a lot smaller at one time, and just got bigger as the tree grew?

Thanks again

Berni
