ISA Certification and others

So read something the other day about ISA Certification. Said something about needing 3 years experience and need to prove and have 3 references of people in the same field. Pass all the test. Just curious for those of you that are certified if this is true? How does the whole process go? and im curious to know from other guys who have other certifications what is intailed in getting those one? Thanks all.

I know they checked my refrences and work history.

I really doubt that they checked my work history out. None of my references informed me that they had been called upon.

When I applied for the certification test, I was quite a bit beyond the minimum experience requirements, so I suspect that they might not have seen the need.

I would really like them to make sure people have a minimum of 3yrs exp. I hate the fact that a permit person, flagger or groundman with 3yrs qualifies.

I think the candidate should have to provide a written letter stating that they are involved in an apprenticeship or a climber in training!!!!!
