I am curious to know how many arborists are reading the many ISA publications and educational materials to help advance your knowledge of trees and working skills. Many of the ISA publications have attached with them a question and answer sheet that can be returned for continuing education units.

The ISA publications that have CEU’s attached to them are:
1. CEU Compendium (7 Books)
2. Tree Science, A Collection of CEU Articles
3. Introduction to Arboriculture CD Series (10 Volume Set)
4. Photographic Guide to the Evaluation of Hazard Trees
5. Principles and Practices of Planting Trees and Shrubs
6. Training Young Trees for Structure and Form (VHS)
7. Plant Health Care for Woody Ornamentals
8. Landscape Below Ground, I
9. Trees and Development
10. Arboriculture and the Law
11. Arborist Equipment
12. Arborists’ Knots for Climbing and Rigging
13. The Art and Science of Practical Rigging (DVD, Book)
14. Basic Training for Ground Operations (DVD)
15. Basic Training for Tree Climbers (DVD)
16. Climbing Techniques (DVD)
17. Chain Saw Safety, Maintenance, Cutting (DVD)
18. Introduction to Arboriculture: Tree Worker Safety (CD-ROM)
19. Spanish Training Programs

Is anyone availing themselves to this training material either now or in the past?

About 90% of the above list-Yes. I also stay current with TCIA and ISA mags.

I have and have read most of the books on the above list, have not really spent much time on the DVD collection. I prefer to get my CEU from classroom and practical applications. I do the test in the books but rarely send them in:( . I keep current with ISA & TCIA mags also.

Are you guys aware that you can take the Arborist News CEU article test online in the members section. It will automatically grade your test and send it in for credit.

The reason for this thread is that I'm interested in how much interest and use we have as an industry in using this available material. I'm also interested how we as an industry and our associations can promote educational materials. Please let me know if you have any ideas.
