Just wondering if anyone has run one of these and how they liked them. I see we have a few of them working on powerline ROW in my county.

I operated one for a couple of years when I worked for a R/W company. The cab and boom are one unit and can level up on slopes to make plumb cuts and help with turnovers. The cab is located at the back the furthest away from any heat source which is great in the summer but its still like sun bathing on a hot sunny day. I had to wear ski goggles because of the amount saw dust. I have never been so cold to the core as I have on one of these machines. I got off the machine one snowy day for lunch and almost couldn't walk, my knees seemed locked up. They do come with conditioned cabs now ,with tracks or 8 wheeled units. This machine can do what 30 bucket trucks or 60 climbers or more can do easily (this IMO only). There are some issues on the limited way you have to make cuts and it doesn't look good sometimes (sharp logs sticking up). But if right of way is your game i don't see anything faster.

Myself being an arborist I look at the cuts and how they are made and how the health of the tree will be affected. To me its simple trees and power lines don't mix and a tree with half of it gone looks like #### but if the lines aren't cleared there wil be no electricity. I have to say the Jarraff is one of the best r/w tools ever made.
