John Deere 91 or Mac 310

I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about the John Deere 91 or the mac 310. they were both given to me and I have run both of them. I can still run the deere but the mac hasn't run in a couple of years. Someone told me the Deere is actually an echo but I havent been able to find evidence of this on acres. The Deere says the mix ratio is 16:1 but I have only been able to get it to run on 50:1 which I know isnt good but I only allowed it for a few moments. I cannot get it to Idle. I think it needs a new carb kit. any suggestions?
