John Deere RX 95

My grandfather gave me this tractor and I have this dilemma: This tractor has a 12.5 Kawasaki electric start engine. She runs good as long as I have the tractor in neutral but once I engage it to either forward or backward the engine dies. There is no Seat Safety Switch, it is just not there and no wires running to the seat. I pigged tailed the wires that run to the Trans Neutral Safety Switch that is on top of the transmission and it works ok but once I plug it into the Trans Neutral Safety Switch it will not run in either gear. I replaced the Trans Neutral Safety Switch with a new one and it still does the same thing. It will not run in either forward or backward unless I pig tail the wires running to the switch.
