I did a search but didnt find what I was looking for. Can anyone help?
How many ccs is a v50? whats the average used price of one? Are they of any account or are they trouble. Who made them for John Deere? What years were they made? Thanks a bunch!!! Steve..

50v

The John Deere 50V was made by Echo and is a 44cc chain saw. I run one as my main saw and has been very reliable and a joy to run.

I have sold off 2 out 0f 3 for $80.00 each without any problems. I have seen them go locally for $150.00. Parts saws usually fetch $25.00 to 40.00 depending on condition. The last set I have should have left a couple of days ago but the guy got called to work. Hate it when the plan falls apart or more importantly I do not like starting over or waiting.

Anyway, they are a good 16"-18" 3/8" saw for hard woods. Easy to start and fairly reliable. Lots of older people really like them. They are slow but easy to use. Good luck.

Now wait just a danged minute JUSTSAWS

OLD PEOPLE, OLD PEOPLE, I resemble that remark. And the 452VL is better than fairly reliable. But then again I'm old and Senile, or is that insane, or is that an addict. Where's my cane, and pills. Where am I? Who's driving?

I'm working on resurrecting a 452VL that I bought at a garage sale a couple years ago. I've gone through it and it is in perfect condition. Only needs a carb rebuild. I'll probably eBay it once its running. Thanks for the info, good to know.

BTW kallaste, you can download the owners and parts manuals from Echo's web site.

I was very careful not to say "old" people, I said "older". I would not want any "old" people to get all upset and have a stroke. :biggrinbounce2:
