They were good saws. A never version of the 2077. Haven't been made in about 5-6 years though. PArts may be tough to get if you have problems with it.

It was an older design taken from Partner if I'm not mistaken. They had about a 20 year run with them, so yes they are good saws.

As long as then compressoin is ok, then yes. Any saw will run a long time if it is taken care of. On the other hand, any saw can be ruined in a short time from lack of maintence and no oil, dirt, etc.

someone i know who i was helping fell and buck up trees has a jonsered 2083 turbo and he said he might want to sell it to me, although when i was helping him i didn't use that saw, i used a stihl ms460 magnum, both are his saws though, i have a jonsered 625 ll, but after many years of logging is losing all its power

There are two different versions of the 2083 Turbo out there.

The original 2083 (and the Poulan Pro 505) was 82.4 cc/4.2 kw.

The later 2083 II was an EPA-compliant saw, that used the 76.5 cc/4.0 kW engine of the 2077 (and others), and is of course less desirable.

Here is more on the family of saws that they belong to.
It started with the Partner P7700, which were the first saw with what is now known as Air Injection/Turbo.

You know.........I almost don't even want to remind myself of this......When Poulan Pro gave up on selling real saws, the distributor up here in the northeast dumped the 477's and 505's really CHEAP! They were selling the power heads at the upstate woodsmans show for around $300, new in the box. Dealers could get them even cheaper if you bought 10 or more.

Should have grabbed one while I had the chance. I think I could score a new or almost new Jonsered, but I always thought that saw looked better in yellow. Must be because it was the original Partner color that it was intended to be.

Yes you should, but these saws do look better in red and black.....:blob2:

For those who don't know; The 475 (not 477) was the 2077, which was the Jred version of the original P7700.

Yeah, and I'm a Jonsered dealer! I normally prefer the red and black.

Your right about 475, not 477. I goofed on that one.
