Trying to figure out a fair market value for a really clean low hour (near new) mid 2000's 2165. I have the ability to pick one up for resale however want to make sure I have a little room for some profit as I really don't need another saw so close to my 2171.

I am thinking its a solid $450-$500 dollar saw?

Any thoughts, anyone looking for a 2165?

I think that would be a little high. In near new shape, I can see it fetching $400. The 2165 should be able to be purchased new for about $600. The problem with selling it used, is it'll be up against 365 and 372's. You'd be surprised how many just don't understand what it really is.

Thanks for the advice, I know the 2165 vs. 2166 doesn't have the same following as the 2171 vs 2172. I will try get my hands on it for under $400. I don't plan on making much but at least offer someone on AS the ability to own a really nice saw for cheap. Its funny how a beat to sh*t, rebuilt 3 times, aftermarket top end 372 will bring $450 online but a minty 2165 is only good for $400.

I appreciate the advice.

That make sense it seems like a 2166 can be had for around 650 with bar and chain
