Hello!
Im George and im from Romania. Just bought a jonsered2234. Cheap 120 USD equivalent.
I know its a hobby saw but i wanted to use it to cut my firewood for the winter. About 12 ster meters (i believe thats about 2.2 cords).
I`ve cut all of it at about 20inches long in about 2 sessions in 2 different days, about 1.5 hours each session. It was hardwood between 8 to 20 inches in diameter. I know the saw is not meant to cut that big but i sharpened often and let the saw cut itself in the wood, didnt pushed on it. Was in no rush.
Have to meniton the saw was serviced once, defective primer bulb was changed and carb tune was done. Today after cleaning the saw i noticed the service guys change my Champion plug with a new NGK one. Nice of them.
My question is as follows, i will post pics as well:
The muffler on this saw is like on the husky 236 or other 38-42 cc poulans.
It has a single screw with a nut that holds the spark arrester and a metal deflector in place. I want to remove the metal plate because it has only one exit hole. If i remove it and just put the spark arrester then the muffler will exhaust thru 2 holes ,the ones above and under the muffler bolts .. I wonder if this will have any improvement on this kind of saw. And if will damage the saw in any way. I dont feel it runs leaner. It doesnt bogs down after the modification and it seems that no carb adjustemnt is needed. Also is used it like that for about half an hour and the plastic was fine., the hot fumes doesnt affect it. All i know it sounds and looks alot better. Thanks!
