Any of the Husky afficionados know whether a Jonsered 535 is the same saw as a huskvarna 51? They were produced around the same time and have identical bore and stroke, but that is the extent of my knowledge. Thanks!

I am getting started, but there is others here with much more knowledge I think.
I have both, and been inside them far enough to say for sure.
Of these two my choice would be the 535.

What Husqvarna dose the 535 interchange with? As well as the 525 I looked at both today to possibly buy.

The 525 & 535 were stand-alone designs. No Husky equivalent. They share some design influence with Partner.

I wouldn't be scared of the saws you are looking at if they run well. If you're concerned about spare parts, you'll be required to scrounge. I have two 535's and two 455's (smaller displacement but otherwise identical to the 535) in my regular saw rotation. I've had one of my 535's for 20 years and use it regularly and it's required nothing but fuel, oil, and regular cleaning. I also have a dozen parts saws on hand in the event I need to do repairs.

The 450 and 525 were the (roughly) 45cc and 50cc offering in that series in the mid-80's. They were replaced by the 455 and 535 and were manufactured until about 1990/91. Many parts are interchangeable across the series. P&C's can be swapped between the 455/535 and between the 450/525, but not necessarily with each other. (I revived a fried 535 Classic with a 455 P&C.) Body work is interchangeable.
