Gentlemen new person to the site , i cut firewood in texas for my bbq pit on wheels .My Husky was stolen so i bought a used 625II problem is no spark . when i purchased it i was halfway thru a 16 inch oak black jack one and it quit . i felt the saw was running hot . never could get it started again except when i put a spark tester on it and it started . anyone know who i could ship it to to get er fixed . I live in San Antonio Tx. would like to get the muff port done also. Thank you fer the replies . phone # is 2103248240 . Ron

Before sending it for repair, check few things.Disconnect the switch and check if you got spark. No spark, remove the starter cover and look for frayed wire from the transistor and also the spark lead itself.

thank you hi octane i did no spark took the cover off checked for loose mounting bolts , (tightened). no bad or frayed wires or lead wire . Figure it needs a module I even checked the spark tester see if it works hooked it to the #1 cyl on the truck and it worked . are the 625 notorious for module failure? thank you again for the reply . guess i will send it off to be repaired so i can get into some mesquite n oak cuttin . The nephew has a bbq i gotta do at the end of may , gonna slo smoke some briskets , smoke some coarse ground sausage and make a heap of my mustard based bbq sauce .... mmmmmmmmm good eatin ... thanks again guys fer the info....Ron...

That unit is basically the same, internally, as the late Husky 61/261, so if there's a Husqvarna dealer in the area, they'll be familiar and can get the right parts. As far as diagnosing the trouble, most small engine shops should be able to help you, and while I don't know about Texas, in my area, most of these places either will work on anything or know where to go to get it fixed up again.

a phone call or two away, let your fingers do the walking.

As a last resort, sell it on ebay (diagnose/fix no spark is usually easy repair) and buy something from reputable local shop. Even if the saw is a basket case you'll probably get good money for it.

BBQ,the module is always the culprit at 99 %.Replace it,its worth because 625 is really a good saw.

625

check ebay for husky jred parts. Look on this site as there is a jonsered rep and he can help. moduals do go bad you see a few but not to many. thats a $4-600 saw new so a hundred or so isn't to bad of a repair.:buttkick: :jawdrop:

Not 261, but 162.
The 261 was on a smaller case/chassis (really a detuned 262xp), and belonged to the 154 "family".

I know that you know - just a misprint. :)

think i found the culprit ... started to tear it apart to clean it and walla there was oil caked sawdust blockinf the pickup magnet on the coil it was caked something awful so i cleaned and cleaned . looked at the piston looks good put it back together and will go get premium 2 cycle to mix and see if that didnt take care o that ...

625

yes that can happen its just like dirt on the points. if my jug / piston was good most i would do is a ring. do it yourself $20 but one tip make sure you do not have any leaking jug gaskets or carb gaskets. A pressure tester is invaluable for this  :yoyo:
