Hello I am new to this site. I came accross this site researching a saw my father recently gave me. Its a Jonsered model 90 he purchased new in 1978 (the same year I was born). This saw was his firewood saw for about 6 years until he went to Stihls. He cleaned up the Jonsered and put it on a shelf in the shop in 1984. It sat there until around 1990 he pulled it out and cleaned it up just to see if it still ran. It ran perfect. Back on the shelf it went.
I was there for dinner a couple of weeks ago and I was talking about getting a Stihl MS460 to go with my Stihl MS260. He said I could have the old Jonsered in the shop. I said no way would that thing run. We went out filled it up and it fired up on the 5th pull incredible. The thing runs like a top. I have cut a couple rounds with it very impressed. My question is what are some things that I should do to keep this saw in top shape. What are some issues to look out for in this model saw. I am only familiar with Stihls and don't know anything about Jonsered. Great site lots of useful info.
