Howdy folks,

I'm a long time lurker on AS but I just joined up so I could post a question.

I have a Jonsered 920 that needs to have the chain brake fixed. I expect that down the line it may need some other repairs.

Where can I obtain parts for this fine older saw?

Thanks for any help you can give.

I don't rightly know. I bought the saw used earlier this fall knowing that the brake would need to be fixed. I dropped the saw off at a repair shop about a month ago, the saw shop owner hasn't been able to get the parts yet.

I have some

And quite a few engine parts but bands have been out of production for a long time.

I did just get a good brake set up in on an 820 with a bad crank but I need this one.

I will look into reworking a different brake band from something else using this one as a pattern.

Thanks PES+.

The gentleman doing the repairs is very decent fellow. He runs a sawmill as well as a saw shop in central WI. He opens up his facility and his woods for the Game of Logging classes I attended. He tells me that he may be able to get the needed parts next week so I'm inclined to give him a little more time.

I'll give him another call to find out specifically what part(s) are needed. In the event that he can't get the part(s), are there other Jonsered saws that would use the same parts or similar enough parts?

EDIT:
Just read,

Answered my own question to a degree...

How bout an ignition coil for a 910? Will a 920 coil work?

I need to double check

You got me there...I am pretty sure they are interchangeable but I need to check.

I am working on retrofitting a different coil for the 820/920 series as the coils are NLA new

The 820 is in there as well.....the 910 had some problems which were corrected in the X20 series.

The 820 is a 920 with a smaller piston and cylinder everything else is the same

How about a brake for the 910E?

I have a 910E bought used off eBay and it came with no brake parts at all. Certainly looks like it had a brake at one time but nothing now. Can you find anything to help me put this saw back in order with a brake?

Thanks,

Mark Heimann

I think I have a dozen parts saws of this series, so anyone needing parts, and I have some clutch covers with parts of chainbrakes, anyone interested can email, I will do some looking, Dave.

I could use the black top cover, The main one, Not the little air filter cover. How much?

Jonsered Parts

I do have the top cover parts, not sure about the 910E, is that the same as the 920 or 930, or more like the 911.

Ignitions I do have, I will test some and make sure they are good, but they would be $45 plus $7.00 to airmail them out. I should have one good one, since I have several. Dave.

Well if you find one that works, you got a deal.

Chainbrake clutch covers and brake bands.

I do have a couple clutch covers with brake bands. I have two different styles of brake bands, one is wide and one is thin. I also have one good complete one with handle brake lever handle. Anyone can email if they need the parts and to get a price. Dave.

Yes I got one that works good. It is yours Hoss.

Does anyone know if the 820 clutch is the same as the 920, 930 or even the 2094?

Dave.

I know the 820 case is the same. I used an 820 case and put a 920 crank/piston/jug in it. Changed the serial plate so it had the 920 tag on it. Ran fine for me. 830 is the same.
