Guys, i hate to ask as i probably will sound like an idiot,we did just get tv, electricity soon to follow. What is a Jonsered ? Are they in bed with Husky ? I have never seen or heard of them until I stumbled on to this forum.

A Color TV?

I asked the same question back in January, look on page 8. "Jonsered and Husqvarna are very much the same in alot of ways, Electrolux owns them both, alot of R&D is the same, alot are made on the same assembly line in the factory in Husqvarna."
If you use the search feature at the top of the page you'll come up with a bunch of info on Jonsered.

Jonsered chain saws have been around in N.America for around 30 years, but distribution has been somewhat spotty.

Husqvarna, Jonsereds, Partner, Pioneer, Poulan, and maybe some other names are wholly owned by Electrolux AB, of Sweden. At one time all made separate products, but now there are really two...Husky/Jonsereds and Poulan, with the better quality stuff being the Jonsereds and Husky, (and a steadily shrinking line called "poukan Pro") and the lower=end poulan stuff. Some of the really small Huskys and Jonsy's are made in the poulan factory in Louisiana, too.

All of the above have websites, but the Poulan site has been under construction for months.

To the best of my knowledge, Jonsereds has only one model that has no corollary in the Husqvarna line; it's the 2083II, which is the same saw as the old 2077 updated for EPA. I have a 2077; it's a good saw, but newer models will perform with it and weigh slightly less.

There are some differences on models, do not assume they are the exact same saw. The 2095 is slightly different than the 395XP, etc. However they are both beautifully engineered high performance couch cutting beef plunging ice slicing monsters.:D

Roscoe,
I don't know if I quite understood all that, but I did get a little bit of info. Sounds to me that your Husky was made in Lousianna by Poulan, then they put Huskys sticker on it and doubled the price. Ha Ha. You would have been better off going to Wal Mart and buying a Poulan Pro.

I have to thrown in my 2 cents here...first of all the 2095 isnt even close to the 395...almost identical to the 394 though...(not impressed with the 395) The town of Jonsered is home to the R&D facet of the company, but like eyolf said..built in the same factory..its interesting to walk through there and see the saws coming off the line..then they flip a card around..and the other brand starts rolling off...

The 2077 (which is a pretty fast saw at 5.0cube) and the 2083 are pretty much now one in the same....they quit bringing the 2077 over...(as far as I know) and kept the 2083...only the 2083 didnt meet epa standards...so they reverted to the 2077 head and piston...under the 2083 brand...more "creative advertising"..

Everyone should have at least one Jonsered just because...even Poulottolux...
