Where is the oil tank vent? I can cut for a while and oils fine, then stops. If I open the cap to check oil and it will oil again for a bit. Seems like the tank isn’t venting. Any thing to check or clean? Thanks. Regan.

There should be, under the muffler on the recoil side, what looks like the top of a cotter pin sticking up. This is a "wiggle pin" type of vent....meant to wiggle when used and provide venting but not allow much oil to leak out when cutting on it's side. Perhaps yours is stuck/clogged....it should wiggle freely when poked with a screw driver or similar.

I think that was it. It was covered in dust and oil. Took a few sprays of carb cleaner to loosen up and “wiggle”.

Thanks Cant Dog did alot of work on 621s but learned some thing new from you.
Kash

They rarely bother but are in kind of an obscure place and easily buried in dust and oil.....especially if one it not the type of person that cleans their saws thoroughly and regularly blows them out with compressed air etc.

Thanks man I had no idea, I thought mine had something stuck in the tank so I jammed some putty in the hole to stop any leakage 🤣 no wonder she won't oil...
