I picked up a jonsereds with original top end and did a conversion to 272 top end after market, same carb same all just a set of bolts and some mooding on the 272 intake piece to convert it into external pulse, better than mooding or changing the carb, hope it helps someone

i just put a 61 top end on 625 II, no need to change the carb if you have the husky intake block, all you need to do is drill a hole in the carb for the impulse channel, theres a little dimple were its supposed to be. Then just plug the old impulse line on the carb or switch the carb cover out with one that doesn't have the impulse on the cover like i did.

It works fine either way......but drilling the block and using the cover fed impulse line of the Jonsered system gives you more chances for an air leak down the road. Drilling the Jonsered style carb to use on the Husky intake is very simple, as was earlier stated, the hole is already located and started in the carb you just have to complete the passage, about 1/8" or so. Slap a solid cover on it ....and you're done......simple and efficient. I should also add that doing this does not prevent the same carb to be used later on the boot stlye intake, you simply swap the top cover and impulse line back on. The bored impulse hole is then covered up/sealed by the boot flange.
