Hey John Paul Sanborn,

Just wondering I've been watching all the storms break up around me and head down towards your area...Just wondering if you still have any trees standing upright? Or not under water?

Strange year over here, at least weather wise. Drought all summer, until last two weeks, and now floods and continuous rain. Every storm seems to break apart, and reform just before it hits Wisc.

There were not many severe failures. Most of what I got to were old defects that failed under wind load.

The flooding is all around us though. We've not had heavy winds to go with it, so we may have dodged that bullet.

The Madison area has gotten hammered though

I started climbing in your neck of the woods, in Appleton. I never could figure out if Fox valley was named for the river or the women...lol
One of the greats of our business, and easily the best climber I ever met resided there...his advice to me as a young man...get out of the tree business before it gets into you.
With all the flooding you are going to be prone to some big tree failures in a couple of years...good luck.
