Just a thanks to all you guys, for the pics and and links!
I do a lot of lurking here for my homemade mill and for my CSM'S.

Had a great day on my mill! It never did what I hoped it would do till I got around you guys! Couldn't have done what I did today with out your guys pics and explanations!

It is dark now, but will posts pics in the morning!

I milled up a couple nice pieces of cedar! They were 80yrs old in pole form.
The bride wanted a better homes and garden fence around the garden, so as any MAN would do with a mill, I jumped for the opportunity to spend a sanctioned day with the mill!!!

P.S.BobL has the best signature!!!

I will see how far I get and update with progress on the fence!
It is cool to go from raw form to actually using the wood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you work off of any plans for that mill or did you come up with all the specifics yourself? I am interested in the tire/wheel size and motor/ power transmision and blade guide system. Could you show any closeup pictures and give more information or links to it? Much thanks. :)

For instance I was wondering what is the tire dia. and what is the rpm you are running it at? I have a 12hp motor I could use. You try to run it at a certain blade speed I take it?

Then there's the age old newbee question.......how do you keep the blade running true on the rubber tire? :)

I will post up some details and specs for ya!
Just got home from a 20hr shift(freakin tornadoes) came through and work came a calling!
So I will be working 16+hours till the mess is cleaned up!

they called him back in to work a few hours ago

They(work) killed me this week!
I always said it was nice not to like in tornado alley! Well last week I did! LOL!
2 small tornadoes and a half dozen micro burst just tore down the towns east and west of me! I ended up up pulling a couple 20+ hr shifts and the rest 16hr. shifts! Man when it rains it pours!!!

Well that 89hr week is over, and it is time to get back to the homestead!!!

Here is a couple pics of a prefinished project! (The bride helped me through the whole assemble, that is why I married her!!!!!!!)
Wife calls it the OKAY GARDEN CORRAL!!!! LOL!!!
Nothing like building a fence with 3X6's and 2X10's!!!

So next time your power is out, at least offer the lineman coffee! PLEASE!!!!!!!

Sounds like you had a rough time Matt. Be careful out there when you aint been sleeping. I think I already mentioned my Grandpa to ya.

That Garden Fence looks AWESOME!!!. I got to build me one. I noticed deer tracks thru mine yesterday.

I thought all linemen had a pet rookie to make fun of and to fetch coffee. If you were working here I would have got ya coffee and a danish.
The fence looks good. Its nice to see those poles get get a second life. You should call it The electric fence. .

don't cut the posts off yet! if the garden dosent work out, you got a good start on a saw shed. all jokes aside looks good.
