I'm in the Virgin Islands and I just shelled out some major bucks for this trimmmer after doing months of research for a new trimmer. I closed my eyes and paid $500 (well $495) to our local dealer for this trimmer. Well here's my problem, when I got home I realized that some of the grass I needed to cut was so thick and sometimes the base so dry the line would not cut it efficiently. So i went online and learned about the grass cutting blades and from some of the posts that I have read it seems as if the blade came with the trimmer. I went back to the dealer and had to pay another $40 for a four tooth blade, thrust plate, washer and nut.

So my question is this, do these latter items come with the trimmer or is it really a separate purschase?

Well its a good machine and you should like it... but the tap adjust 2 string head is standard on their trimmers. Did you try some of the thicker trimmer line before you bought the new head? Then again you will probably be just as happy with that.

Yeah i was using the .105 line with the wire in it but that guniea grass when its overgrown is really tough. i'm pleased with the blade just thought I (us here in the islands) was being taken advantage of.....thanks.

Occasionally you can talk them into throwing a blade in for free but it is normal to pay separate.
