Kentucky Coffee Tree question

Do KCT's have a yellow inner bark like this?

The tree is not mine it was taken on Long Island. I'm trying to help solve the identity of this tree in a discussion we're having on another forum.

could you show a picture of the outer bark?
That wood looks like butternut. But the cross section of bark does remind me of coffee tree.

Looks like butternut. Appears to have nice figure, hope it gets made into something nice.

Ok, I can tell you with 100% certainty that it's not Kentucky Coffee tree. I haven't handled very much black locust, but to me it looks alot more like Butternut than black locust. I'd have to see it in real life to determine between those two. My 2 cents.

Y'all are making some of the same guesses so maybe it is one of them. The thread is here for those of you who'd like to see all the guesses and comments. Thanks for the input.

id call it black locust,i know they get big in that area
