I was thinking of getting a new set of pads for my klien gaffs. I was looking at the velcro ones with the steel shank in them but some have told me that the cast aluminum pads (caddy pads) are half the price and much nicer. has anyone used any of these style pads and how where they?

Only ever used aluminum pads, only ever climbed with spurs. On spurs for many hours a day. So, they work good for me, the other ones look way flimsy and unsupportive.

another vote for caddy pads

I worked for the local telephone company and have uses el-cheapo l-pads and velcro without inserts and bought caddy pads for my personal kleins with tree gaffs for side-jobs. if you climb on tree gaffs in kleins..caddy pads take a few minutes to get used to because of the angle difference..actually it is a better angle just feels funky. once the feeling changes..no discomfort..get them from baileys and order the longer calf straps unless you are an ethiopian or big bird. don't look back..buy the best get used to the best and work to your full potential all day long.

I'd vote for the aluminum caddy pads too. Very solid feel and no torsion on your lower leg. In order to put them on my Bashlin aluminum climbers I needed to file them down the groove that goes around the shaft of the spur a little bit.

I also had to file them down.Going from L pads to aluminum caddy pads was a night and day difference.

Bailey's catalog says the alum. caddy pad won't work with the alum. Bashlins. Sherrills sells some steel pads for Bashlins, anyone tried them?

They do fit on Bashlin aluminum climbers. I had to file my pads down a bit but they do fit. Seems that Bailey's has come to the same conclusion:

Traditional leg pads used by high climbers and riggers for decades in the Pacific Northwest. They are now common throughout North America for climbers who want extreme leg support. These pads will give you years of service. Requires 2 leg straps per set. These pads have recently been redesigned to fit the new Buckingham and Bashlin climbers.

they do carry the velcros with the steel insert and i am more than happy with them.

word of advice, never buy the velcros without the inserts.

There is also a mentioned professional is dignity thieves, thirty percent can receive a lot of blood volume, with the support of the T eight effect, knife fan energy consumption is very small in WOW WOW Gold. According to several senior college thieves, use properly can play nine thousand as well as ten thousand DPS are feasible. Because the occupational restrictions of the P two and interrupted task of P three. In addition, it is submitted late and did not use a special kind of professional talent Aion Gold. At the same time, these two professions can keep first class of AOE Star Trek Gold, therefore, they deserved to become the leader of the Dps in WOW. Each of extremely difficult Boss is an magnifying glass, a small professional advantage at any point would be infinitely larger Metin2 Yang. Perhaps you will see that there are a number of other professions played relatively high. The overall DPS does not explain too many problems, the core of Dps can only be Warlock and painful thieves. Even now I still believe that group on the ten to fifteen warlocks Cheap WOW Gold.

WTF???? Wake up man! Your in the wrong window!

Im thinking the velcros with metal inserts would be best. But, should a guy go with the angled or straight version? any opinion would be appreciated.

You may want to make sure they will fit kleins. I know there is a part # just for the Velcro pads with inserts. If it doesnt state so contact the seller and make sure before you buy them.

I personally like the velcros without the inserts. I tried the ones with the steel inserts and sold them.
I also tried the Caddy pads and went back to the velcros.
