I am considering the purchase of a Kubota R420 or a Swinger 240. Both machines have around 4000 hrs. Both are priced about the same. Both have a grapple bucket. I want to use them for loading wood without turf damage and to load split firewood into a dump truck. I would be purchasing the machine site unseen.

Should I wait until I can afford a lower hour machine. Has anyone operated either or both and has a preference. Thanks for the suggestions.

4000 hours is quite a bit.Id do some searching on the interent you should find some good deals being how the economy is now.

I personally consider 2000 hrs about equal to 100k miles on a car or truck. I would not buy a 200k car or trujck unless it were dirt cheap and I was in a position to fix stuff.

We get rid of ours before they get to 4,000 hours but I always considered 4,000 hours to sorta be the end of the line.
