whats the going rate for 1 acre to be cleared if the terrain is good ? good meaning flat and no rocks. i need to estimate a 40 acre job and need help from the pro's I'm working with a tub grinder, a dozer with a rake, and a large excavator. should this be a day rate or a set price? i have some experience but not enough for a fair accurate price. any help is greatly appreciated. PS all the heavy equipment i will need to rent. I'm only a tree service and do not own any large machinery. i do have chipper ,truck,skid-steer,saws,and a 1ton p/u. i want to rent a tub-grinder a dozer and rake, and a large excavator with a shear to make work smooth and pretty easy on my men. please help!

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you, but I was thinking what would I do if I was in your shoes. I would call out a few companies that do this, and get estimates. Find out what the would use and go from there. Somebody here can help, but it is better to get someone on the land for accuracy. I bet you are thinking the same thing;) So get going. Don't be shy.
Where are you in PA? I live in West Chester.

This is a hard ???
we have all the toys and this is what we do! not that you can't but if you have to rent all the tools you will not be competitive in pricing (most co's. bill out their toys with an op. cheaper then you can rent one)!
if you can get some real good pic's i can try to tell you what we could do it for and you could adjust your price from their but this can be dangerous !!
it might be in your best interest to get 3 bids from local land clears and sub out the job.

info for pricing

chips stay or go ?

y is the land being cleared ?

logs stay or go ?

what kind of road is the land on (for off haul)

What are you clearing? Is it brush, 12" dia and under trees, or??? How dense is it? How much off haul and how far? What is the standard for you to complete to?

Over your head and out of your league. Not being mean, "large excavator with a shear" tells me so. Do what you do, pass this on to some one else.
