Well, with the flood yesterday, I got to watch some of my lap wood being washed down the river. as the creek rose up faster than I have ever seen it rise in 60 years. My normal creek was about 250 yards wide, with three pickup loads of wood going on down to lake anna. plus some big lap wood, which got caught up in my water gates for the cows. What a dam_ mess. Finally able to cross the river today with the 4 wheel drive tractor to check out all the fences, they don't look to good to me. Also feel very sad for the tornado victims.

Thanks uncle, My one mile long drive way also had two culverts washed out also, never in my 60 years have I seen anything like this rain. The one in 1996 was a bigger rain, but not as fast as this one. ( AKA ) massive flash flood. We lost lives here with tornadoes. I pray for these people.

I guess it is the only wood that I have left to get. after we logged about 40 acres. The laps left from the logs. It is a lot of wood if I could only get to it. Which is a big problem. even with the big tractor.

sucks man, just sucks....moms nature can be a real ^&^*^%$@!

lefturnfreek, I do have a new saw from tlandrum, I am so glad that I did not lose any of my saws. But almost lost a $60.000 dollar tractor today by being stupid. as I drove it into the river to check on the cows. I did come out on the other side with out much problems, to check on a cow with a new calf.

I love that truck. We had a 64 model that had a 16' grain body back in 1978, It was a feed truck from the coop.

Sorry to hear you lost the wood. We had a similar problem at our camp before they built two flood control dams. Our parents made us get out and far from the creek when a storm was coming. It would come up quickly and wash away whatever was on the bank. It was about 14' deep in our area and it narrowed down.
btw -250 yards seems like a WIDE creek! Does water flow across the whole width all the time?

Ya it's a 65 F350 with a 200 ci industrial straight 6, she's not fast, safe, comfy... but has hauled thousands of cubes of gravel, dirt and sand since I have got it for free over 10 years ago.
