I have this high lead block and have thought about selling it but have no idea what it's worth. Most of the markings are readable, they
are:
Mallory
42X6
NC-2042 A (the 0 may be a 9 or 8 not sure)
High Lead Block

I was surprised to find that the sheave still turned.
I had a bugger of a time getting this monster to my house, lucky for me my dad had a large forklift at the time.
Thanks for any info

If you are not hard pressed for money, how about donating it to a logging museum?

i agree. pm me if your interested in donating. it would be a shame to see it scraped, other than in a museum it's not worth much.

Damn, that thing's huge!! :jawdrop:

I'd love to hang that from the rafter in my barn... :D

Yes, museum would love that in their logging section...

Whatever you do, don't let anyone scrap that... I mean anyone...

No scrap

Yeah I'd never let someone scrap it. I like it where it is at my house but I could use the money. Maybe someday I'll donate it if I don't get any offers. Wow you must have a massive barn to be able to hang this block from the rafters. Ha Ha
