My "brand new" refurbished Husky 435R had its first tank of gas disappear, only ran it 10-min. Today I added a few ounces of gas and watched and wiped with a paper towel. As soon as I dried the inside of the handle, fresh gas would appear at the seam.

Is this common?

Just sent an email to VMinnovation so we can swap 435's.

First off...Identify exactly where the leak is in tank seam..

Drain gas/oil mix..let dry..then clean with solvent...(to remove oil residue)..

Rough-up the repair area with wet/dry sandpaper..use dry...

Apply 3-M 8001 weatherstrip & gasket adhesive and let it dry overnight...

This stuff cures rock hard..and is totally gas and oil resistant..!!

Problem over..!! (I've used this stuff for 40+ yrs..!!)

Maybe that's a better solution than you fixing it..??

If you do as I suggested...that "VMinnovation" place likely won't accept it back..!!

Was just sayin' how to fix it...and of course the "fix" will be obvious..!!

Thanks all, fortunately I won't have to fix the seam leak.

I sent an email to VMinovations, the etailer who sold me the refurb, and in an hour I had a reply. They then had FedEx email a return label. I printed the label and will take it to town tomorrow. Should have a new refurb in a week or two. :)

Pretty good service if I say so myself.

My guess is the leaking tank was why it was returned and Husky's inspection missed it. I used a Sharpie and wrote "leaking seam" on the handle, shouldn't miss it again.

When did you buy the saw? Its good to see them take care of this.

Late Jan. I was one of many who got one for ~$142. Here's the thread.
I read that thread and several others i could find. I've been looking at them for a long time
and got one a few weeks ago. I used it this last weekend. I ain't feelin the love just yet.
I'm not giving up just yet. It starts great and runs good.
