Fueled up and ran my *new* Remington PL-5 the other day and found that it lost most of its fuel when sitting. It seems to be weeping along the seam between the two parts of the case, in the front of the saw where the oil tanks are on most modern machines.

Is there any sort of liquid tank sealer that I could use to solve this problem?

Is it a plastic tank? If it is Plastic I would use fiberglass resin and the mat.
Sand it real well soak the mat in resin, stick it on then sand and paint the tank.I have had good luck with that stuff even on metal, hell half the floor on my 68 chevy ended up that way.

Nope, it's metal - part of the case, the same way that the oil tank is part of the case on most pro saws.

I'm kinda hoping that there is some sort of solution that can be poured in, sloshed around, and will coat/seal the inside of the tank without having to tear the case apart and all.

Anyway, I should probably tear it apart a bit to figure out better where the leak is coming from...

A Napa or carquest might have it or might be able to order it.

Make your own gasket

Napa, and Fisher auto parts have sheet gasket material that you can make a gasket for your old PL. I've made 3 gaskets due to problems with gas leak SL14, bar oil getting in the cyl due to a bad tank pressurizing valve, Logger, and gas leak on PL4. It takes a little time. great results. Just get the material that is not affected by gas or oil.
