Today a good customer brought in his Jonsered 2054, he cuts wood for a living I guess. Apparently he had just about run out of mix and needed to finish the job. So he figured that he would just top the tank off with straight gas and it would mix with the 2 cycle that was still in the tank and he would be fine. what a waste!!!

If I absolutely, positively had to finish cutting and didn't have any 2-cycle, I'd at least put a little motor oil in the gas. That's how they used to do it before they had a special 2-cycle oil! I figure that there is a truck sitting there with 5-6 quarts of oil in it, won't miss a couple ounces. Not something I'd do regularly, but better than straight gas in a pinch.

Nope, didn't lock up, just nuked the exhaust side of the piston and the exhaust. After we told him of his misfortune and the cost to rebuild his saw, he opted to buy a new one.
