liability insurance in BC

for contract climber stuff, low consequence jobs and climbing for wildlife projects. Any tips on carriers with good rates? I've been quoted $1300.00/yr for 2million.

That seems like a fairly reasonable rate, especially if it is your first policy with no proven track record. I started off paying $1400/year for 1 million liability, however due to some forestry contracts had some additional coverage for fire etc..

I agreed with Greenleaf that you've been quoted a reasonable amount for a bare minimum of coverage.
