Here is what I did to make the Line Tamer for mid line advance. Off the shelf it only handles line from ends and no loops or knots at ends.

Cut a slot at a slight angle for the mid line connection.
And start it outside of roller and end up at top of the 2 drive rollers.

I'm sure others have done this already and just a small offering.

It works great now, don't have to untie my loop hithing the throw bag. And can even leave the bag on. Well, it wont pull the bag weight over the ground. You would still have to hold it and stop before end.

I haven't done it, but I hear if you put the slot on crooked, at an angle, it'll keep the line in better.

Thanks for that tidbit. I got my first LT last week and after looking at the design, was dissapointed. Being able to connect mid-line will make a huge difference.

Thanks

I have had my Tamer for a couple months now and haven't put batteries in yet, 'cus I have knots at both ends of my line.

When you wind it up, does it fall out of the slot at all?

I know I shwed a not to clear pic, and it was a close as I could get with my cheap digital.

If you keep it fairly verticle it will do fine, and I let it run under my loose thumb when to far off verticle.

The angle in the cut has to be thought out when you do the modification. Since I was limited with small dremel(sp) type tools I just used a small coping saw.

I've heard that others have done more complicated cuts, a veticle, a angle, and another verticle. I too was concerned with the flimsy plastic aspect. So, I just made one cut as shown and described. The plastic tooled fine and the piece is still strong.

I do wish the motor was a little more powerful than it is.

Don't know how long the batteris last under real day to day use. The idea is fine and knowing something about machining and motors one could build a Husky version. :D

Do you think if one used Husky power it would be a bit stronger than the electric motor? How about building a spool and attach it to a 200T? Jack go out and buy some rechargeable batteries nmh type are going to outlast the LT 10:1
