Hi all,
Looking for some advice on preserving a Live Oak stump. We just had a large Live Oak removed because one of the offshoots became rotten (fungus, according to the Arborist). This large offshoot collapsed, the much large tree leaned over the neighbors house so reluctantly we had to have it taken down (I have a large pile of Oak wood to cut up!)
Associated with this stump and growing from it, are one small tree and slightly larger tree that we really want to keep.
To my inexperienced eye the cut stump looks healthy, just a little darkening near the center. Is there any sort of treatment / protection that we could apply?
Thanks
Geoff
