I own a LJ sport and I am disapointed with it. I like the concept and the smooth action. My dislikes are how it attatches to your rope and saddle. With the LJ and two biners it's alot of metal hanging there. Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of the large bulky biners but still keep it clean and neat and easy to get on and off?

Also since the fly I haven't used a 16 strand line much at all. I wouldn't ever want to go back to one accept maybe at competition for the footlock, not sure have tried secured footlocking doubled rope with a prussic on it yet. Anyway I haven't seen where the larger cam for the LJ is available for sale. I do know that lucky and few do have them (Tom).

You could carry a wrench and use quick links for the connection. A little line mug wit wrench, extra gloves and other knick-knacks

I use several QL in my setup, w/o keeping a wrench handy, I just check them often, like anything else. Have not had a wrench since my leatherman walked off.

The only time I dont like it is when they get too tight and I need to call for that wrench I should be carying again.

JPS,
If you are using those small alum. quick links from Sherrill, the rating info has been corrected. They are only rated for 2200 lbs tensile.I was thinking along the same lines or perhaps tiny carabiners. But I do not know of any small posilock biners, only screw locks (Black Diamond, Omega, etc)

I only use steel QL's mostly Rapide Mallion (?) which are supposed to be manrated.

Ther are permanent in the system so I dont want the wear that aluminum gets. Not that much differenace in weight.
