I camped in the clearing where this happened for a full week with the Scouts. They told us that story the second to last night in Camp. I did not sleep at all till we got home. When the movie came out I geeked out :msp_w00t: because I had camped there.

As a side note I want that old Dodge Crew cab from the movie.

Meh...

Chitcago tourists are creepier, more dangerous, and just as unexplained and unpredictable.

I'll trade anytime.

Stay safe!

Hard to dismiss something if you seen it yourself. I have, but not the kind of "UFO" like you'd think. It was a ball of fire, the color of flame, maybe 3-1/2 feet to 4 feet across. Appeared and floated across the clearing in front of my brothers and myself..I was 11, they were 9 and 7. Bright sunny day, 7PM in the evening August 26th 1979.
We ran like scalded cats, told our father, and he said it was a bad omen. We pressed him to explain, because we were freaked out, and he would only say "Something bad is going to happen".

12 hours later our mother was killed. When my much older brother, the one who drove over her with a car, came the next morning at 6am to tell my dad...my dad knew something was bad wrong..I clearly remember him looking out the window as the car pulled up the long driveway..he kept saying "Oh no..Oh no..Oh God..Oh no..." He was right.

My other older brother saw something in the sky once, about 12 years ago. He was driving his son to karate class.. It was "Huge", motionless, and dark colored. It was stationary, about 150 feet in the air, over the edge of a small field next to a neighbor's house about 3/4 mile down the road from us. He tells me it was the size of several houses, and of a shape like no flying thing he has ever seen. It scared him so bad he took off in his car as fast as it would go. And I mean to tell you; he is not a man who lies, or who scares easily. He was scared for his son, who was 11 or 12. His instinct was to run. As for his son, he saw it and said the description is exactly the same.

Wow that is crazy, U spooked me now :msp_ohmy:

I've seen weird things in the skys over the years as well. You get north of here up in the timber co. and state land and you never know what you are going to see. There is a 55,000 acre military reservation 30-45 minutes away. I have to wonder if sometimes they figure that they need civilian real estate to try out whatever is is they are working on, that us "civilians" are not supposed to know about.

Okay, let's recount what I just saw: Nice McCulloch in an old Dodge crew cab, RandyMac's pre-yellow Ranchero, an old Willys like I learned to drive in (the original suv) and a logger kicking an alient's ---. Interesting movie. Ron

Half of my family lives up North, in Lapland. There's always some weird activity in the sky going on and they've got used to it: Years ago I was taking a walk with my cousin Marko (RIP) through the woods back from the bar to his house. I noticed a large fast moving fire ball crossing the sky escorted with smaller shiny objects, 5-6 of them there was. I stopped and shouted: "Marko, look up, what the hell is that?????" Well, cousin just went on hands stuck deep in the pockets, didn't bother to raise his eyes from the trail in the snow we were walking down, and he said: "Go on, #### it, there's nothing to see. It's just lights in the sky..."

Cool!

I was gonna just leave it at my first post, but..

I have a couple good friends, a man and his wife, and they saw something right in the bright daylight.
They were outside of their home when a bright silver object about the size of a car and pear shaped came "around the mountain" and came to a stop at the end of their fields where it hovered..it was moving up and down slowly like a boat on the waves..then it extended "legs" and was in the process of landing when fighter jets came screaming over the top of the mountain. The thing shot up, and was gone "in the blink of an eye" with the jets hopeless to catch it. Both of them saw it, and so did 2 of their kids. Lots of people in town saw the jets.

I have a friend who has worked for DARPA and the Argonne national lab..he insists there's way more going on than the public is aware of. And not just "objects" but all kinds of waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out there hard to fathom kinds of stuff. He's eccentric, but I have to give him some credit, as he isn't a dummy. He's worked on the Hubble telescope among other things.

:alien2:Alien stories that begin with "so I was walking home from the bar" have a lot less credibility to them though.

Ha! True, but that was the case. And if I recall it right, we both had more than a fair share of fire water that night.

However, the story in my mind is not an alien story, but a story of my cousin and his attitude. That was the last time I met him. Next time I went to Lapland was for his funeral. That's how I remember him. And for his memory I adopted his attitude - I don't mind weird things happening. They're just lights in the sky.
