I am currently an arborist in NH. I am looking to get into and learn more about the logging industry but I am having a hard time finding any one looking for help. I am 24 years old and very eager to learn about the industry. I am very willing to re-locate to Northern NH if need be. I am motivated the, weather does not bother me, nor do long work hours. I can run, and maintain saws. I have equipment experience but no skidder experience. This may be a shot in the dark but I am putting it out there. If there is anyone willing to teach a young motivated guy who loves to be outside. Thank you in advance for your time. My contct info is 603-706-2221 or email at [email protected]

Go see Nash Equipment in Coos county. They will put you on a payment plan on a used skidder and you can start logging for yourself. If that is not for you they will know of anybody looking for help.

I spent the first 23 years of my life in the Northeast Kingdom and never heard them called that. I still remember the jingle.... Come on in we'll fix you up; Nash Equipment:laugh:

Do you know what they call RCT (rural community transportation) in those parts?:biggrinbounce2:

Very few hand crews up here. Mostly bunchers and grapple skidders. The few chain saw/cable skidder guys I know are one-man crews, and they work on private lots. A lot of machines are parked. This might not be the time to make the leap.

I would be very careful in dealing with NASH'S TRASH. I went up there once and most of the used equipment was one step from the junkyard.

Sort of what I was thinking.

That is what I have been hearing. Kind of bummed out about that. I have been calling a lot of different places and either they dont answer the phone or they dont call back or they are not looking for help. Anyways, I know times are rough and I guess I will still keep looking. I am not giving up!!!
Thank for the responses.

Erik
