Local logger stopped by this week to see if Id be interested in selling my pine from my property. I had him clear my lot for my house a few years ago and discussed the possiblity of logging the rest (about 35+/- acres). At the time he was pretty busy and I wasnt really interested since I was in the middle of building. Anyways, apparently, the mill he uses is looking for Pine (which I hate and was just cutting it to burn in the woodmaster). No estimates yet but what should I be looking for? One friend of ours mentioned that pine was running about $100 Mbf in the northeast and has gone as high as +/-$220. I mentioned keeping the tops of the pine for burning but figured it would be a giant mess. He mentioned chipping the tops after pulling the logs out of the woods.
