I use the Logosol Big Mill LSG but don't see much about it on here. It's pretty good but I was thinking about changing to the Alaskan. It seems to be a bit sturdier built. Any thoughts from anyone on this?

What length bar and chain and size powerhead are you running with your BigMill? I have not used the LSG, but I do have a Timberjig, and I have to say, for ease of setup and consistent precision, I like the Logosol better. The Alaskan has the potential for similar results but requires a bit more attention to detail, it's other plus is if you have the need, the Alaskan can go longer than the BigMill(width of cut). The thing I really like about the BigMill is they if you have the guide rail and end rods, you can setup and mill similar to the M7. I guess it depends on what the bulk of your milling is(average size log and endproduct). For dimensional boards I prefer Logosol's approach, having used both. Heading out to use the Timberjig today.

Got MS441 and 36 inch Logosol bar with Logosol ripping chain. I also use the Big Mill basic for smaller trees, usually with MS441 and 30 inch Sthil bar and Granberg ripping chain. It all works ok but has a huge number of locks and clamps to make it work reliably accurate.
The LSG rails seem a bit flimsy and if sawing on my own, the start and end of each cut can be tricky because only one rail is supported by the last cut until you get deep enough with the cuts for the following rail to give support.
