I RECIEVED A LOMBARD 3-16 FROM MY GRANDFATHER TODAY.I PLAN ON RESTORING THE SAW AND AM SEEKING ADVICE FROM THE CHAINSAW GURUS.HE GOT THE SAW USED IN THE MID 50'S WHEN HURRICANE HAZEL CAME THROUGH RICHMOND VA.ANY TIPS,TRICKS,DO'S & DONT'S,OR GENERAL INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.THANKS IN ADVANCE-TODD

I have a Lombard similar to this one. It runs really well. Does this one have the float carb mounted at a 45 angle? It works as a compromise between felling and bucking. The highspeed mix on mine needs to be open very little to run right.

SCOTT I DON'T KNOW IF THESE PICS ANSWER YOUR ?-I HAVEN'T HAD TIME TO LOOK AT THE SAW-I REALLY DON'T KNOW A THING ABOUT THESE OLDER SAWS.THANKS FOR THE REPLY

It looks like you have the same carb as mine. My saw doesn't have a cast gas tank, it's just a round tin can above the back handle. Your back handle is different also. Exhaust looks very similar, just a straight cast pipe! Very loud.

Todd:

I have the same exact saw, If memory serves me correctly It was called the 3-16 "Woodlot". 3 hp with 16" bar. Mine is a 1953, I even have the original paperwork from the original owner. They were quite expensive in their day. I haven't restored mine yet, but they are pretty straight foward saws. Take your time when disassembling. Yours looks to be in pretty good shape though. I would leave as much original paint as possible or just give it a good cleaning and some wax. Josh.
