Sure is pretty, new owner will probably have to replace everything in the way of seals hoses and carb kit though. Bar is not original, Stihl had greaseable noses when this bugger was born from what I've seen. Just the ticket for the guy who has a dim witted hired hand who only knows how to run a Farmboss, he can get a new saw and save the trouble of retraining the guy on something different.

Wow that's a lot of cash for that old 041 in prime condition! My father has one he bought in the early 70's. His saw still runs mint and has lots of low end torque. It's a great saw for it's time period. Maybe this buyer loves O41's or he's as sharp as a bowling ball when it comes to knowing saws.

Something like that is a nice gesture to a company person's retirement party. If it's pretty enough it will never get started.

Personally, I could get 6 harder working 82cc Homelites for that money. Faster engine speed and a half pound lighter to boot. AND I can buy my own parts saws for what you spend on a.... name-it.

Stihl is name. I love'm but don't let anybody tell you about Germany's superior magnesium or aluminum. These are not guns.

Man, those saws didn't bring that much new, I paid about $ 350 for a 041 Super way back when, I revived that same saw last winter, used it for awhile, then lost it off my truck in early summer   I do miss it, never did find it in the ditch, someone got a nice freebie.

Tried to replace it with a clean looking replacement off ebay, still went for almost the price of a new saw when they were still in production. They were good saws no doubt, but their not that great for that kind of money they are bringing.

Look at the bidding history and there was a bidding war towards the end. That always jacks up the price. My 041FB is in decent shape. But with a little degreaser, fresh coat of paint, and a new bar and chain.... who knows????

The quality of the pictures for this ebay saw are very detailed and not blurry. It looks to be a nice saw, but no way should it have gone for over $500 bucks. The bidding war and good pictures sold this saw. The description sucks, but the way it is packaged in that case make it look even more enticing.
