Compression appears to be excellent using rope test, saw did not fall at all!! Everything is intact. They guy said it runs, just not well, maybe a carb kit, or air leak.

Not a bad find. carb kit will likely fix it nicely. those little things are small, but believe you me, they're not weak. I ran one that I have in pieces that seems to have the power of a 10-10, or so it feels like.

They were a cute little saw! I see a lot around here, usually not working (almost alway fuel related). When we tell them $60 to $90 to fix it, homeowners want to trade them in on an MS180, but we just sell them the MS180...

It is a real pain to get at the carb.
you got that right for sure. thats why mine isn dismantled and sitting in a box on a shelf. I just dont feel inclined to screw with fixing it, so it sits on the shelf in that box.

I got one in pieces too, and a couple of parts ones, if anyone needs some parts let me know, maybe I can help out

Those carbs are a pain to get to. I suppose thats why I usually pull out a homie or poulan when I want to get a cheap, little saw up and runnin.

Good find! Looks similar to the Power Mac 6 I found at a garage sale not long ago for a few dollars. The owner said he thought it needed carb work or a new carb. I dumped the old gas, put in fresh mix, and the thing started right up!

I wonder how many "carb problems" are really little more than just old, bad gas.

Almost all the carb problems are just old bad gas... Most of them you can't get going without a carb rebuild as the old bad gas has messed up the carb, fuel lines, filters etc.

Well, put some gas in'er, and she fired right up!! Did a little light fogging until it got cleared out, but runs like a champ!! Untill I cleaned it. Im sure its simply a carb adjustment issue, and Im not good at adjusting carbs!!

Anyone wanna buy it? After taking it apart and cleaning it, it would appear it has the original bar and chain. Almost no wear under the clutch cover, but I believe the chain and sprocket need replaced. The bar needs dressed. The saw just isnt my cup of tea, but I couldnt let it go to the landfill ( I work at said Landfill.)

Make me an offer........

Us poor lowley dumster divers............bow to the MASTER!!

Seriously, i would never get any work done....the boss would always be yelling, "put that down and get back to work!"

LOL, we actually have a "No Picking" policy. Except during clean-ups. The last one I worked earlier this year one guy had almost 50 vacuums in the back of his truck.....That he was taking home!!!

Ive only been there for 5 years, but hear stories of "the old days" when they would get a load in from a grocery store, and eat like kings for a few weeks. Or get loads of auto parts from GM. This isnt the first perfectly good saw to be resuced from the landfill. I also got ANOTHER garden tractor, this one runs though, not a thing wrong with it.

They have cracked down on the picking though, its almost a fireable offense now. Depending on how naughty youve been throughout the rest of the year.
