looking for a new saw

glad AS is back! im looking at a jonsered 2253, I stopped into my local tractor supply the other day to see they now sell Jonsered saws. from what ive read the 2253 is supposed to be the cats ass. but TSC doesn't carry the 2253, but they can order it in. but the guy called the vendor to verify that they could. (no local power equipment dealers near me sell Jred) so the man at TSC made the mistake of leaving the vendor on the speaker and he revealed the true cost price. well lets just say the mark up is a nice 3 digit number.

so I guess what im trying to do is seeing where I can get one cheaper than the $520 price tag. looking for a 50cc saw to replace my old 029.

I realize the 2253 is a 550xp but I just like the jred lol

2253 is a very good saw! You can get one here from Spike60 or TLandrum. Both will beat that price.

cool I will send them a PM. I tried to get the guy at TSC to order it and id make it worth his time, the Employees can get them for cost. he didn't want to play ball with me on it lol. worth a try I guess haha

i just bought one yesterday, ran me 600. It is a very nice little saw but the auto tune isnt impressing me too much. maybe with a few more tanks of gas through it?

to my knowledge tsc isn't suppose to even be able to order the autotune saws. i know i cant find them on there web site anyway. but i know a web site that does have them www.wickedworksaw.com

You might want to consider the Jonsered 2260. Got mine ported from Tlandrum and it wears a Pro Lite 3/8 .050 20 inch bar with Stihl RS chain. Can't say enough good things about the saw.
Not a whole lot more weight than the 550xp and a whole lot more power. The ported 2260 is a pleasure to use and takes the husky small mount bar, same as the husky 550xp and Jonsered 2253.
