Im a chainsaw carver just outside of Fort Wayne, IN and looking for some fresh-cut white pine logs 18" in diameter and up. Will pick-up in southern Michigan, northwest Ohio or pay you to deliver. Must be white pine!

How far would you drive in Michigan to pick the logs up? When i do pine removals I have trouble finding a home for the big logs.

But I'm not sure if i have any jobs coming up downstate.

I would like to know what length logs you as a carver prefer and what you take ? What kind of price range can a person expect to get delivered ? I just would like to know in case I have the oppurtunity to get some if it may be worth my while.

Carving logs?

Brushwacker - I like logs lengths 6' & up with about 18" in diameter on the small end. Most of the time I don't have a problem finding free pine from local tree companys, but Im definately in a dry spell here and the wood I had is all carved-up. The three woods I carve are white pine, basswood and catalpa. If you come across some of these, PM me and we can talk price from there. Most guys don't have to buy it, because firewood guys will pass on it. I would cover your cost to deliver it and then some. Thanks!
