Something I noticed that I failed to initially, these saws were all new and probably not adequately broke in. Notice the actual power is down from the stated power on each saw except the Dolmar, at least not significantly. One would tend to think that the PS-5000 was broke in already, as it was a pre production saw not available on the market yet, but what about the PS-7300. Everyone pretty much agrees that saws need a good 10-15 tanks of fuel to get up to full power. I don't think it was intentional, but maybe this variable was overlooked, or at least ignored.
As far as the 346XP, I think it was tested in a way that it wasn't designed to perform the best. It's a limbing/trimming saw, which cuts fast on much less than bar length dia wood. The test did full bar length cuts, which would tend to favor the slightly larger displacement saws with more torque.
