Looking for value on 076 av

Hey guys I'm looking for what the post states, value on a 076 av, saw is in good shape, paint is still bright, but scratched up from being used, gonna take a compression tester and stop by the bosses storage unit and test it before I say I wanna buy it, last time I talked to him about the saw which was 2 years ago when he bought, it he said he wanted 400 for it, seem fair for a running saw? Its in great shape with a near new 32" b&c duromatic sharp as ****, I've started it every few months that I'm in there and think about it

Great old saw ughost, I owned one from round '85 to '02 and then bought a 066.

The 076 was primarily used to fall Euc. trees and then rip (farm) fence posts 6ft long. I look back on that saw with a lot of affection and wish now I still had it for the torque
and reliabilty it had. The 066 revs harder and has been reliable also but just doesn't compare with torque. I ran/run both with a 24" bar.

I'd advise you to take the 076 you are looking at and get stuck into some wood at least 2ft dia and see what you think about it after use.

The 076 was appreciably heavier than the the 066 - the only set back.

I know nothing about the model, but one in similar-sounding condition recently went for $765 on eBay, and another that was missing much of its paint, had a very worn bar and didn't run went for $375. $400 doesn't sound out of line.

Thanks I think its a regular but not sure will look tmr like I say its in good condition obvious wear in the normal places only bad is it hasnt been started except for me, which isn't that often

Not being started more than every few months isn't going to have hurt it at all. If it was stored with gas in it, that's not great but probably not a big deal either.
