Lost retainer clip

Im putting a hyway 52mm cylinders kit with pop up piston on my Stihl 461.
I lost one of the retainer clips for the piston pin.( It went flying)
Can I use any clip that fits? Or does it have to be the kind and size of the one I lost. Auto zone has a big selection. Would a snap ring work ?

I would get the exact same circlip to match. Just me. I've seen a few give out that weren't exactly the same, but were "close enough". I dunno who makes the "Hiway" brand but I'd try to find out and get the specs

Or try to find the one you lost. If nothing else you’ll probably end up with a tidier shop .

I would use oem clips. Aftermarket clips have been known to let go and ruin a cylinder. It might be a blessing that you lost one.

OEM clips and position correctly with the gap at 12 o clock per service manual.
