I was removing this Gum ( Euc Viminarlis) which was riddled with decay and had dropped a large limb on a back garden. After a while I noticed my groundie (my 23yr old son) had wandered off with the camera..I later found these pics
Enjoy.

rob .overhere in the uk we grow euc gunnii there a popular garden tree....i think thats how you spell it..i have a question over in Australia do gum trees grow with lots of included bark..most of the gums grow big overhere but they nearly always have included bark making dismantelling difficult..and limb failiure commen..

far to many eucalypts to say what does what there all different they will shed limbs when they feel like it generaly on a still day with no reason

I just really enjoyed the pics, I really enjoy Australia but Tas more and NZ even better, and your presentation reminded me of my son being my helper too.

I guess in spite of the world being taken over by zealots both religious and greedy, the needless loss of lives and countless orphans being made and my own body dissolving before my time (which has been graciously extended far beyond what was expected) your posts helped make my day this Sunday morning...I had a choice to be grumpled and sinister but thanks for directing it towards being thankful.

Those trees remind me of our Sycamore....be careful on slick surfaces. I've had to climb many barkless beauties but prefer to have some bite for my boots.

Again, for some reason, thanks.

Rollacosta....some sp seem to predisposed to inclusions..ie Euc nicholli , i just cabled one the other day. E gunnii wouldnt get that big over there would they?
Oakwilt ..glad to brighten your day..yep that Euc was slippery( i had spikes on) it was drizzling the two days it took to remove it.Glad to say their was little damage to the ferns.

80 feet +, ive taken down some weighing 6+ tons and more always multistemed and lots of included bark,i love/hate them

Well thats a fair size ...bigger than over here 80 feet would be Max.Maybe they dont worry us as they dont get that big.
In "Forest trees of Tasmania" it is noted as having a "trunk of poor form".....must be genetic ...maybe something to do with surviving low temps?
