There's lots to look for when pricing a job. Lately I've been looking not just at the tree but the surrounding buildings for damage. example- dent in eavestrough. Pointing out these damages to the customer and even writing them down on the estimate may save alot of headaches down the road. I will also point out if the branches have to come through a fence that there maybe some marks on the wood from branch contact. I think the customers appreciate the level of concern for their property.

I'll put up sheets of 1/4" plywood to protect the fence (downspouts, siding, etc.) to ensure the marks don't get there in the first place. The customers really appreciate that.

But I hear ya on pointing out prior damage.
